My Nikon D80 one day just started to give trouble. Began to throw open the error but still went some time after a couple of minutes, no longer able to take pictures at all, I think it could be a problem in the mirror I want to know your opinion whether I am right. Thanks.

  • err message is caused by the aperture control unit, not the shutter. In this unit there is one gray gear with contacts, which is usually broken and you can fix it.

  • have to change the shutter

  • did anyone get a fix for this - mine has just started the same thing. dont really want to take it apart ?

  • well... im lucky with my good old D80. shot about 60.000 without problems till now

  • Same here as well, only about 6k shots and now this... Having it fixed will likely cost as much as the camera is worth.

  • @4speedfunk

    yeah please .. mine too!!

  • @happy543210 is exactly right. That shutter speed is way too fast for D80.

  • That shutter is releasing way too fast for a D80. That's almost the speed of a D3. Did you modify that camera--voltage? software?

  • If you figure this out...post a follow up. Mine does the same thing.
