  • the dumies wold probably had survived if they wor a seatbelt

  • @kewlick31 ALL Volvos due to. Neither X5/X6 have been tested to meet the IIHS roof strength recommendation. The Volvo XC90 has exceeded it since 2003 as so does the XC60. In contrast the Acura MDX only had its roof strengthened as of 2012 to meet IIHS recommendations and the RDX still doesn't.

  • @gavone10 But cars tend to weigh less, which means less weight to support in a rollover. All factors considered you are safer in a 10 year old sedan then a 10 year old SUV because of the severe detriment SUVs had in rollovers. Modern SUVs had made significant steps towards safety in major part due to the influence of Volvo's XC90 which was released in 2003 with Roll Stability Control, DSTC and a Boron Steel reinforced roof that still today exceeds IIHS recommend roof strength.

  • I've had my 1994 Ford Explorer since 2000. It's always been a reliable car for me. I think any car can roll over and I know SUV's are more frequently but I've never had any issues with mine.

  • This actually isn't bad.... i have seen much worse. But, one crash cannot paint the whole picture. No matter what vehicle you are in, what situation, there is always a chance you will die.

Don't scapegoat the vehicle. Most of it is due to driver error.

  • @Jeep1444 i totally thought the dummy wasnt wearing a seatbelt =/

  • @crashtest2302 American invent the Airbag and almost everything you can found on a car these day so... stfu

  • @kewlick31 I meant that they weren't available in the explorer that the guy was driving....
