Shotgun Slugs at 200 Yards

Making some hits on steel at a laser-measured 200 yards with 1 oz. 12 gauge shotgun slugs. I was shooting with an off-the-shelf Mossberg 590. No special choke or anything; ghost-ring open sights. I was just getting into a groove when I ran out of shells, and ended up with a 10" group on the hits; aiming nearly 3 feet above the target.

On some of the shots, you can actually see the slug streaking toward the target, due to sunlight conditions at that time.....which is pretty neat. Watch from about the two o'clock position down toward the center of the target, right to left.

When I show the slugs at the end of the video, the second slug is from the first shot that hit the bottom of the target stand.

That may have actually been the slug itself. The lighting and sun angle was very good for it that day. Need to add long range slug shooting back to the list, now that I've upgraded the camera and my editing software.

I can determine the difference between steel and humans. I'm not aware of any law stating that targets cannot be orange. Maybe in California.

Nice Gunning! have you been working the slugs at distance still? Shotguns are about the best "allaround" go-to tool a person can own for survival/defensive purposes... I Love my Win. 1200 and Moss. 930HD

@twin1010101010 Most armor can stop them... if you had old Level II armor you might have to worry but most modern armor is level III ;)
