  • Every credit to you mate, going your own way will be far more satisfying. Would be good to see a video diary of your progress, if you get the chance :)

  • @1NorthernOutpost I'll see what I can do about keeping a vid diary, not quite at that stage yet but I'll be sure to bear it in mind. :D

  • Awesome pickups man! KOF's series is ace isn't it, atm only have '97 but enjoy it all the same. Bet you'll be having plenty of great co-op action and don't be afraid giving your oponent the duff one, HAHA!!! Look forward watching your Mame cab develop. Been thinking about this m'self, think if it ever happens i'll pay a guy i know to build it for me. Honestly mate my DIY skills suck big time. Enjoyed checking out your new stuff anyway Daz, cool! :D

  • @MENDEZ1628 Hey mate. :) KOF is pretty damn good and 87 is next on the list. :)

Hehe well mate I don't blame you for not building one yourself but I'm pretty noobish at DIY stuff but I'm going to give it a go as a bit of a challenge and see what it turns out like, lol.

  • For the Joystick: "Dow Molykote 44". It's silicone, safe for plastics (unlike petroleum-based products), and sold by arcade outfits specifically for joystick parts. You can find a 1 oz. size on ebay at a decent price. Whatever you buy though, just be sure it's a synthetic (silicone).

  • Real Bout Special is incredible! One of the best games on the AES in my opinion...

  • @Drexus80 Nice one Daz, my dad did the same thing, built a cardboard model to get the idea right and went from there. There are plenty of sites online that give you plans for building a cab as well and provide all the measurements. We used one and modified it too our own specifications :)

  • @Drexus80 Wish you all the best with your Mame proj' mate anyway. Look forward seeing progress down the line. I have a feelin' you'll suprise yourself & it'll turn out pretty cool. Daz!.."KOF '87"? Do you remember the original Street Fighter, think that was released in '87. It was poo! :D

  • @Snestastic I'll definitely be taking my time on the cab, it's the only chance it'll not be a complete mess, lol. As for design, just thinking about shape and features at the moment then I'll plan out some designs and maybe make a model; if it turns out anything like yours then I can't go far wrong. :)

  • @Drexus80 lol well either way Daz i'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out :) lol i'm sure you'll be fine dude, just take your time and i'm sure you'll create a crackin cab. Have you began to design it?

  • @1NorthernOutpost Hey mate, yeah getting the box too was a nice bonus. :) I've looked at some pre-built arcade machines and kits - even though it's a lot of work I kinda want to go through building one myself, for shits 'n' giggles if nothing else; who knows what the damn thing will end up looking like. :D
