Crashproof your Helicopter - FMA / Revolectrix CoPilot II

Brief overview of the FMA / Revolectrix CoPilot II - CoPilot doesn't use gyros. Instead it uses thermal sensors to "see" the horizon. Since the earth is always warmer than the sky, it distinguishes between ground and sky. It's a very unique system and works great. 3-axis gyro systems are something completely different. They don't level the helicopter with the horizon and ground, but rather only work to stabilize a flybarless rotor head so the heli can fly.
