Christmas Is Just Another Day - A Poem from an Abused Child's Perspective

I know, Christmas should reflect on love & happiness. Yet beyond sadly for so many children, they don't know what Christmas is like for them. They don't have gifts to open, food to eat, a tree to gaze at with awe and wonder, nor do they have a loving parent giving them love, hugs, & kisses, and saying "Merry Christmas, my sweetie. I love you." Instead, Christmas is just another day filled with severe beatings, words of hatred, starvation, & empty hopes. Please don't let that happen. If you know of a child who's being abused, get them the much needed help. Children are helpless, & we adults are not. Please give an abused child the gift of love for Christmas, because all children should get to experience the joys of Christmas. Let's help turn an abused child's tears to happiness & cheers. Thank you so much.

Aww i luv ur poem u have such a sweetheart th8is is my dads account he passd jan 14 2010 day before my bday im an 11 year old gurl when i come home from school i think bout those chilldren i think bout how luky i am it hurts to hear wat most kids go threw some children dont live they die from the pain the hate and the tears if i ever met an abusedd child from school ill take him or her home with me and give em luv treat them with kindness kno mattr wat my mom says

Ahh my dearest Sandra, thank you so much for centering your theme around the less fortunate, which includes abused children, families living in poverty, abused animals, the gravely ill/hospitalized, etc. Your tender heart has touched many hearts because you think of & care about all of us. Ahh, thank you so much, my sweetest Flo, & you're so right. Christmas IS children, & every child should be allowed to smile, laugh, open gifts, & be shown love on Christmas Day. It's beyond sad that so many children aren't privileged to celebrate such a wonderful time of year.
