The Transrapid in Shanghai has a design speed of over 500 km/h (310 mph) and a regular service speed of 431 km/h (268 mph). Shanghai Maglev is the world's fastest railway system in commercial operation. Other Maglev lines within China may follow.

  • @TheSlyfer22 True, but Maglev's operational cruising speed of 431 km/h is faster than the TGV's.

  • @Yellownealy

Funny thing is, this thing cost $2 billions less than the non-Labor expense of the New York City subway system.
