It's for a french project I'm doing to honor Shaun Monson (the writer,director and producer of the film). He's an amazing guy and does all kinds of great work, so I choose him as my nominee for french class hero's thing.

And I believe the point that was being made was that in the way society treats animals (unjustly and cruelly) mirrors the same way years ago society mistreated women and people of colour.

What they are saying is that society is wrong in this mentality, just as they have been wrong in the past. People keep making the same mistakes only to realize years later how horrible they were and how wrong.
