@cubano3421 Chill lol, you're not a ranger yet, you're not even a soldier yet. I signed the same exact contract as you about 4 months ago, and I don't leave until this January for BCT.. You have a while to go, I have a while, and even then, we still have to make it though. It isn't easy! Do me a favor though, one thing that I can't stand is guys who haven't even enlisted yet, or have enlisted and are just waiting to go, act like a hard ass... Don't do that, future soldier.. Hooah

@IMNOTAMUSED1 WTF are you talking about? First of all, Rangers don't use tanks. The Regiment doesn't recruit 19Ks. Second of all, the M60 can be carried by one man, so I can't see why it can't be used in a light infantry unit. Third of all, Rangers use M240 (seen in the video) and M249 LMGs... You've honestly been playing too much Call of Duty..

I wanted to to try out for a ranger so bad but then it turns out I am red green colorblind...so now I am enlisting in the marines as a field radio operator so I can hopefully get a chance to work with marsoc units

@DDIISSEE I have an uncle who was former 2/75 then went into the Columbus, OH Detachment of 19th SFG. It was funny as hell talking to him when Osama went down. My dad's last deployment was as an attachment to one of the SFGs in Afghanistan (though he wouldn't tell me which). He's a Navy nurse corps guy buy as a former 11B E-6 type he volunteers for a lot of deployments.

@clapinc Eh not so much. There's not a whole lot to be confused about. Every Special Operations unit (SEALS, CAG, SF, AFSTS, Rangers, etc.) has their own primary mission they were stood up and designed for. However, in today's conflict many units venture outside of their predesignated paradigm out of necessity. SOCOM is executing a lot of missions carried out by JSOCTF.

@marinetobe2012 lol..Know what you mean. My step dad is former 3/75...most unassuming dude ever...but i got nothing but respect for him and all SOF personnel.

@DDIISSEE yeah they all look out for each other. At that level the dick measuring contests that are prevalent here and in some conventional units are non-existent. Had a former 13F Sgt from 1st Batt. in my squad this past summer. Was the most humble guy I've ever met; wouldn't have known he was from Regiment unless I saw the scroll.

@marinetobe2012 Yeah, and SEALs have come in support of Rangers that were on an objective too...That's supposedly how that chinook got shot down in August.
