This is meant to be funny, but actually it's a good idea. By voting, you validate them and they feel justified in doing whatever they please because you pulled the lever. What would happen if everybody registered Independent and stayed home on election day? What would they do if nobody showed up?

2nd. The vote matters, you can pick one right wing nut or a feckless 'liberal' (whatever that means now). Voting gives substance to a farce. Change, I feel comes from pressure against those in power. At the root of politics is either force or the threat of force.
