Buy at http://www.shapeways.com/model/168621/geared_5x5x5.htm Copyright (c) 2010, M. Oskar van Deventer. Geared 5x5x5 is a higher-order variation to the Gear Cube. A set of gears make an inner layer turn at half the speed of an outer layer. This way, the outer layers can only be turned by 180 degrees. The gearing ration is 4:40, so the puzzle always retains it cubic shape, and the edge gears can only be flipped by 180 degrees. Still, the puzzle is fiendishly difficult.

This puzzle was 3D-printed using nylon-powder SLS technology, which explains its price. It is the very first prototype, costing its designer and maker a lot of money to create. Please do not confuse it for a cheap mass-produced puzzle.

  • Why do you record your videos outside?

  • @CnAxGaming Better light

  • Totally isn't worth 400$. This may be extremely unique or whatever you're going to feed me with, but I'm pretty sure almost no people would be interested in it. In addition, I dislike the way you commented on cnlferner's comment, as it was merely pointing out the you're prices are too big, whereas you reply with an impertinent answer of saying he fails to understand how awesome your products actually are.

    Thank you :).

  • @Rasmus0909 Thank you for your well argued comment. Value is in the eyes of the beholder. I consider myself fortunate to have some customers who are willing to buy my prototypes, despite the fact that I am unable to produce single prototypes at mass-production cost. I hope to achieve your price point some day ...

  • @OskarPuzzle will you haggle with your prices... i cant afford 400$ but will 275$ do you well?

it looks so good... i just want it for decoration

  • @Omegadarkdrake Thanks for the compliment. I hope you can find a sponsor somewhere to fill up the missing $125 in your budget.

  • @thesandbar2 The small pieces in-between the main three pieces count as the other two. This makes it 5x5x5.

  • I think your awesome because your not afraid to say how much all your puzzles are in the comments. A lot of people that sell things on youtube don't do that because their scare of what people will think. With you, it is what it is and I think your amazing for it. =)

  • So it is 5*5*5? Wow. It looks like a 3*3. I'm now officially confused.

  • takes a lot a brains to make these kinds of things, kudos.

  • people stop asking this guy for lower prices it's like going to a apple retailer and ask if you could buy the iphone 4s for lower prices and believe i tried that **** before

  • a mini version of gear shift

  • This cube he's bored

The original cube is much funny.

  • @Rasmus0909 think about the gigaminx,a mass producted puzzle, cost arround 80$,this is much more unique and nonmassproducted,i think it worth the price,i won't buy ,but i think it worth,in my opinion of course :D
