"I believe the flicker is caused by the ratio of framerate on the video and refresh rate. For instance, I think most video is recorded at 28 frames per second. A monitor might refresh at 60 or 75Hz. I was never too sure on the specifics, but the video picks up the "in-between" refreshes of the monitor. In one frame, it catches the screen refreshing at one point, and in the next frame, it catches it refreshing in a different position. That is why the screen slowly blips"

  • And about youtube, even if a video isn't available as HTML5 yet, you can still add the Scripts/youtube.js userscript in Windows->Scripts, which will change Youtube Flash object by a HTML5 object on the fly.

And also add Scripts/youtube_fullscreen_fix.js to be able to switch to fullscreen in overlay mode (which is way faster than the original mode).

  • To be noted that ACID3 test would go up to 93 even without SVG. You must just wait a bit more after the SVG/XML cancellation.

  • so great!! i want it altho maybe mac mini is better for me i need portability..
