  • it looks like working very well!

when it has 8 gb, it may be the 84aa, not 64aa i had the same drive, now its dead and opened, looks exactly like the one in the video... western digital used that disk design many years! the design can have up to 3 platters, the arm is designed to have 3 platters but it only has 1, very funny and strange looking

  • You are right dude! I got this drive from my friend. I think that he manipulated with this drive and put the top-cover from the other WDC. The side-tape was broken and top label partly destroyed.

  • @Messerschmitt262a2a Wierd eh?!

  • @ypoora1 oh damn xD but, who will need all that space? 32 gb is more than enough xD (i think its crazy, today, computers can have 32gb ram, more than a normal computer hard drive back in the late 1990s)

  • @Messerschmitt262a2a I beat you. 32gb :)

  • Does It Have Any Data On It????

  • I have the same hard disk. works perfectly and never let me down. Western Digital Caviar 64AA 6.4 Gb Hard Drive is a popular model :D

  • it reminds me a lot of my first pc startup, i forgot how the drive soundet but when i hear that i can remember everything... i was the king with an 8,4gb hard drive back in that times, running windows 98

  • Ha! I reckon it's only Western Digital drives that do it! My WDC WD1600JS makes the same grunting noise when it starts!

  • Wow. Your hdd is fooked
