@Vamphaery Correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe Tori started to use Bosendorfer pianos around the time of Under the Pink album. I remember her remarking on how Bosendorfers were amazing in the credits section of that album. This was before Under the Pink... and we do see Tori using other pianos before Under the Pink. I don't mean to sound like a prude or anything... I could be wrong, too.

@Vamphaery Very interesting! Instruments are more complex than I thought. Thank you for that

@Trund27 Well, it's not the brand, but the design. The material, shape, the number of clefs, and the tuning all matter to how an instrument sounds. Bosendorfers are known for a very distinctive sound, though. Someone else said she wasn't playing a Bosendorfer in this, however. So in this case if true I guess it's chalked up more to sound engineering and mixing more than anything else. It's a similar sound to what she gets out of her Bosendorfer performances in other recordings, though.

The deep, metallic, bass-laden sound of the Bosendorfer really lends this an ethereal, melancholy mood. It almost sounds ancient, somehow. Ancient and haunted.
