Concert film shot entirely on location in Jamaica in 1977-78 capturing Bob Marley and other reggae superstars at the height of their careers and is considered to be the definitive reggae film.

"Spring 1978...Disenchantment has spawned gang warfare in the cities. The Conflict is cloaked as politically motivated reprisals between elements of the two national parties. Violence begets violence. The number of murders climbs into the hundreds. Although heartfelt tribulations are expressed around the island through potent reggae, the Prime Minister Michael Manley and the opposition leader Edward Seaga persistently refuse to deal directly with one another. Finally an uneasy truce is declared and soon after, Bob Marley on behalf of the Jamaican people arranges for the Prime Minister and the opposition leader to appear on stage together, and Bob Marley agrees to headline the giant "One Love Peace Concert" to be held in Kingston, Jamaica on April 22, 1978....
It was not until May 1981, that Prime Minister Edward Seaga and the honorable Michael Manley met again in public and shook hands....it was the Jamaican state funeral for the honorable Robert Nesta Marley.
