The Mark V SOC (Special Operations Craft) is a small marine security/patrol/transport boat manufactured by Halter Marine Inc (Gulfport, Mississippi). The Mark V is one of the newest additions to the United States Naval Special Warfare Command. The primary mission of the Mark V is medium range insertion and extraction platform for Special Operations Forces (primarily SEAL combat swimmers) in a low to medium threat environment. The secondary mission is limited Coastal Patrol and Interdiction, specifically limited duration patrol and low to medium threat coastal interdiction. The typical Mark V SOC mission duration is 12 hours.

Back in 1998 I spent a day on a Mark V with the Navy Seals. We were on the Chesapeake Bay, they had two twin 50's on the back and were taking target practice on a WWII ship that was out on a sandbar. I was doing work for the development of a training CD-ROM for the Navy.
Btw, the seas were pretty rough on the way out and after about 30 minutes of continuous bouncing, even in those flight seats, it was pretty jarring and tough to handle. The ride home was smooth as glass. Great times!

no but you have to make it into SWCC. you have to have completed high school, you have to do that for anything in the military. SWCC carry around SEALs and other SOF.
