From a gig I did on 24th Sept 2010 at the Vac, the Perseverance in London.
Ignore my ugly mug!

Lyrics:
When a breeze tickles the wind chimes
When a butterfly dances on your collar
Follow me to the river
Over the Hill
Follow me to the river

A Picasso of broken windows
A mosaic of cigarette butts on a concrete canvas
Seize a moment's peace on a bench by St Paul's
A silent sigh over a cup of plastic coffee

When a breeze tickles the wind chimes
When a butterfly dances on your collar
Follow me to the river
Over the Hill
Follow me to the river

Darting feet along bruised pavements
A scramble for a bite and a wishful ascent
I have somehow entered this race
Which I've no intention to complete
Release me from this pace

Our wings clipped
We are grounded
Daydreams of unfettered privilege come and go
When they're not choked by red tape
In a game of bouncing a ball of blame
A ball of blame

When a breeze tickles the wind chimes
When a butterfly dances on your collar
Follow me to the river
Over the Hill
Follow me to the river
Follow me to the river

  • beautiful melody and guitar...

cant hear the words very well though...

  • Your 'ugly mug' is as lovely as your music, Eiko-san.

  • Where have you been girl? I haven't seen a video from you in forever? And how can you say you have an ugly mug? You're one of the prettiest women I have had the fortune of looking at. Everything ok in your world? Are you on Face Book? You can find me their if you like. Hope you're ok. Lovely song by the way. : )

  • i very much like the almost drone like guitar playing style on this one. it almost hypnotically carries us along, side by side with your thoughtful lyrics. i like also that you have woven simple, unremarkable little images of everyday items, chimes, broken windows, etc. but then like a little surprise comes a short phrase like "bouncing a ball of blame". very sensitive writing and performance. be well, chuck.

  • FINALLY another song!! And I love it!
