Twitter informs me first of a stabbing in Peckham on 12th March 2011

I first heard about the stabbing when I was in Peckham Library using Twitter, just after I read the tweet, I heard several sirens. Because Twitter gave me the information so quickly I stayed safely inside. It is a great warning system as the police and media often do not give you the news quickly enough. I just ventured out to see the ambulance head towards the hospital. LBC news gave out the news much later in the day. The condition of the victim is serious.
