What is actually happening is that the emitters encompassed in the glow are discharging and diverting their energy into the blast released from the firing emitter. This is evident whenever we see an arrayed vessel firing, and clearly visible in "Q Who/TNG", "What you leave behind/DS9", "Best of Both Worlds/TNG" and many others.

@Zcontinuum @Zcontinuum The Sequential Discharge Effect which is evident when phaser arrays discharge. The length of the glow moving along the array varies in size depending on the power of the blast.

oh btw, just thought it might be helpful to know a fact from visual inspection and energy released. The phaser arrays (for example on the Galaxy class) release levels of energy dependent on the SDE prefire. You'll notice that against light enemy vessels the two glows which travel along the array are rather small (these are the number of emitters discharging), yet against larger targets (ie the Borg and Romulan vessels), the glow line is far longer, sometimes up to a third of the array length.

:o WOW, I am SO excited to see this movie. :D I'm hoping you did something similar to "The Romulan Incident" where you used clips from the show to fill in dialogue and action sequences. I LOVED that. :D

:D I'm thinking about adding a few clips, from TNG to add the dialogue of the battle, or I might just make it just pour battle, I haven't made up my mind yet, right now I'm concentrating on the animation, which is a real headache, because my stupid computer is not cooperating at all, so it is gonna take longer than expected. As I'm typing this, the computer that is animating, just crashed, yet again, damn thing!! anyhow, I am happy you like the teaser friend :)
