I've read the whole trilogy and it was a very fantastic work of fiction (even compared to other Pullman's work.) The first book is one of the best written novels I've read, hands down. And as Christian, I believe that a fiction remains a fiction. I have nothing against it because it is make-believe as it is.

this movie is fairly kicking up a fuss... least that way the cinemas going to be packed.

i dont see why the christians are up in arms about it. why do you care if we're all going to hell for watching it? theres much worse blasphamy going on in the world to be ocncerning yourselves with a bloody movie based on someones imagination. theres people out there who think up far worse, just be fucking greatful!

to be honest I didn't like the movie at first. But a freind of mine told me to read the book, and he told me more stuff about it.

The theory seems really good as far as I have heard. I mean just cause we think our religion is right, does it really mean it has to be? How can we know who/what is bad or evil?

We simply can't, we're making assumptions about stuff we do not know, things we fear to come.

Every Religion is basicly a theory anyway, they basically say "the theory of life" or how to say

It's a book... because Lord Asriel in the FICTION wants to OVERTHROW god, it does not mean that the author wants god to die and hates all christians!

Also to all you christians, who was the most evil ones through the ages? Christianity which killed, tortured and burned people who did not believe in god or atheists, which only denies god's existence?

Crying out loud, if film watchers were as pathetic as some people in the western world, there would be no films because all of them would be classed as too religious: Superman, Star Wars etc etc all included.

For one thing, I am sick of the UK/USA slating everything that coems our way in entertainment that may offend Muslim and other religions. As far as I a am aware, they don't care, if other religions don't like the look of a film, don't watch it. Don't start putting ideas in film watchers' heads that it is religious.

not more boring religion crap. Who gives a toss about religion. It's a bloody movie. Anyone who complains about this is pathetic. I just enjoyed watching the damn film, religion never came in to it.

I hope it was not the government trying to be politically correct again. When people watch a film, they don't care or think about religion. It's only stupid tossers trying to spoil the film for everyone else.
