  • @peteryyz43 Thank you!

  • @bbnatedogg ..Fuck man ...IF I HAD ONE DOLLA FOR EVERY TIME I LOL AT YOUR COMMENT..I'D BE A MILLIONAIRE WITH A FUCK LOAD O DOLLAS..GENIUS COMMENT..JUST GENIUS!!:))

  • awesome!!!!!

  • Kid Charlemagne: fucking genius! I read somewhere he did that solo in one take!

  • @GeoStratocaster He must've learnt about them afterwards because he does speak about modes & scales today. it isn't necessary. Modes are just parts of the scale played out of context.

One of the 1st time modes were used was in Miles Davis 'Kind Of Blue'.

I ,personally, find it hard to remember scales & modes and in the end, it's the sound that's important not the theory.

Wes Montgomery didn't know anything about theory..didn't even read chord boxes.

He said "I practice tunes but not scales>"

  • One of the best music interviews on youtube.

He speaks wonderful sense. He's got the approach of all the masters like Wes Montgomery.i.e he listens rather than uses too much formality.

  • Very interesting that Larry says he takes a break from his instrument. I've read that the great bassist Gary Willis does the same thing to keep it fresh by getting away from music 24/7 and living life.

  • 7.05 "cool" (i have no idea what you just did) i think guitarist's should be interviewed by guitarists.

  • Great interview!

It's great to have this inside look, knowing how Larry approaches composing and demo-ing. Thanks por posting.

    Regards,

    Pedro
