1st level cool on Parappa (PSP)

So I bought the PSP release of Parappa The Rapper today. The game response still seems a little wonky (like the original PSOne game... they couldn't have fixed that in 10 years?), but after I beat it, I decided to start trying for cool ratings.

I suppose managing a cool on the first level isn't much to brag about, because you only have 6 words to freestyle with, but it was fun trying to press the buttons on my PSP as fast as possible to the beat.

I just got this game today (on psp aswell) and the timing is keeping me from even beating this level. As someone who can play expert level on games like Guitar Hero/Rock Band and finished master difficulty songs on Guitaroo Man Lives, this is really bugging me.

Is there anything I can do to make the game more 'fun' instead of failing on the first song?

Really the only thing I can suggest is to learn the timing. It's a bit sooner that it should be, but once you get it, it's actually pretty easy.

Well, there's a bit of added replay value for the PSP version because of the extra songs you can download. However, the core game is still only about half an hour long if you just play through it and skip all the cutscenes.

I bought it because I enjoyed playing the original on the PSX, but my copy is really old and worn out.

Do you still have the CD? Does it still work? If so, you can use PSXe. They let you use a CD.

Still want a ROM? Umm...there was this REALLY GOOD website...But I forgot its name.

Do you have a PS2? PS2 can run PS1 games.
