This arc light predated Edison's light bulb by over 80 years. In fact Edison did not invent the light bulb first or even hold the first patent on a modern light bulb.

  • The electrode is from a six volt battery the actual voltage used is 12. It's hooked to a car battery for power.

  • that's so dangerous

  • You shold wear black sunglasses or a welding mask, theres loads of UV light too!

  • Doesn't look very safe to me though.

  • not sure who invented it, but edison didnt even hold the original North American patent. He bought the Canadian patent off of 2 Toronto students in the 1870's.

  • Only 6 volts? Thats more like 120 volts by the looks of it.
