maybe he thought she was gonna get her ears pierced growing up and wanted for her to do it young so he can hold her through the pain?

I don't like it for babies. I got mine pierced years ago at age 8. My mom asked if I wanted them pierced for Easter, and I said "yes". She also told me that just because she asked, didn't mean I had to do it. I got scared, so she got hers pierced to see how painful it was. She said it wasn't bad, but I could still back out. When I got mine done, it didn't hurt bad, but bad enough. I appreciate her for allowing me to decide for myself and "testing" the pain for me. Babies don't have that option.

We just couldn't do it to either of our little girls...We agreed to let them decide when they get older if pierced ears is what they want...
