A vintage Roland Bass Guitar, the G-77 is used with the new Roland VB-99 bass guitar synthesizer. A BX-13-VX is used to convert the 24-pin bass output to the 13-pin bass guitar synthesizer input. Various patches are demonstrated.

  • The VB-99 is a substantial improvement over the original V-Bass. Your 1st generation V-bass does not have the GR-300 emulation. You can generate sounds using the same analog synth features found only on vintage synths, that is a lot different. And, you can model two sounds at the same time. So you can combine an upright bass with an analog synth bass (GR-300) and more. Plus performance features, like the D-beam and infinite sustain.

  • VB-99 is a very nice piece, but other the midi direct out feature it sounds just like my 1st genration roland v-bass. Was hoping the vb-99 was alot better.
