  • what, accent is that??

  • @Pollandtheawesome This guitar demo was brought to you from Frankfurt/Germany. I can't deny my accent, but hope that you understood the most of my babbling. :))

  • Hi can you tell me what you are playing this through, pedals/effects and amp etc?

    Sounds great!

  • @celticcatmusic For this particular demo I used the AmpFarm-plugin for ProTools (virtual Vox AC30 with 2x10' simulation) and added a 400ms digital delay. In some parts I also switched on a digital chorus and a octaver effect which adds more bottom.

  • would this be anygood for Punk,Grunge or shoegaze?

  • @AcousticLauson - Any time. :) The only restriction would be, that the thin octave-strings from low E to D tend to break fast when hit with too much uncontrolled punkish energy. :)) A electric 12-string rather has to be played with sensible fingers for best results.

  • What were the licks you were playing? The 12 string sound amazing BTW.

  • I had one of these a few years ago, why ever did I sell it. Johnny B Goode sounded awesome on it, who would have thought a 12 String would do full tone bends so easily!

  • @AcousticLauson If you are playing shoegaze, this guitar would probably be a pretty good choice. Belinda from MBV played a 6 string surfcaster sometimes. Miki from Lush played a 12 string Epiphone which is probably comparable. And doesn't the part where he's playing arpeggios in this vid remind you of Cocteau Twins' Victorialand just a bit? I dunno about grunge, but shoegaze yes.

  • This is a great sounding guitar. Thanks for demoing it. I have one of the early Japanese Surfcasters, but only the 6 string version. (They were made in Japan before Jackson bought Charvel). I love it but the neck is very thin. The 12 string might be better for someone with bigger hands. 6 string is perfect for a lady or smaller hands.

  • @mbafmike Wow. Doesn't sound at all like an ac30 to me! With lipstick pickups!? Dont get me wrong. Its a fantastic sound! I just would have never guessed it. Awesome guitar!

  • Thanks for you replay about effects you used. I enjoyed the sound so much I now have one of these too - in green. Really really lush sounding guitars these are - your playing really shows it off.

  • the look screams rickenbacker brit jangle...but its made by a shred guitar company ...so i should have expected the unexpected in the tones you created and your playing approach.
