I give you this because it is my favourite piece from the movie, and all other clips with these motion pictures on YouTube features other audio (which is rubbish) than the original classic.

Maybe Disney makes happy endings, but that's not necessarily true of Walt. Fantasia 1940, Rites of Spring. If it was made for 2000, I bet the Stegosaur would have walked away, or even better, no extinction featured. Pastoral Symphony is lighthearted, but has nudity. Not to mention, water animated by hand in Sorcerer's Apprentice, and 3D whales in Pines of Rome. It's arguable that the classic is better, and would have treated this story differently.
It may have taken time, but I'm sure there is a different piece of music which works well with this piece...and it's proper ending. I'm sorry if I seemed flippant earlier, that was not my intention.
How can you be sure there's another classic piece that matches, if you haven't heard it? The Disney producers searched for long and coming up with this was apperantly hard work. I understand nobody is being offensive but you just can't claim things you have no standing for. Me however, I'm sure the creators discussed back and forth more than a couple of times before they decided to go with this ending. To suggest they didn't like you do suggest, I don't buy. I know you're not offensive.
I didn't mean to come across as though I was complaining, I apologize if I did. As to another piece to fit this story, off the top of my head at 6:30 a.m. I don't have any. I don't mean to deminished what it is that Disney did with the Fantasia movies. I was simply pointing out that everyone seems to thinkthere were only the two choices: to end as they did, or to end it the way it
I can't say I'm surprised Disney opted to go with the happy ending, and the music does fit that ending type, but they weren't completely backed into a corner. They had the option to use another piece that wold have fit the true ending... but as it was said earlier this is Disney, and they do tend to water down stories for children... it's worked this long, who am I to argue.
IvyatHeart I know I said that, but you add they could use another piece for the movie, well what? Listen to what Bette says from 0:58. This is very difficult stuff to create and instead of enjoying the beautiful result people mostly complain at Disney. Personally I prefer the original ending but accept this one because it works fine. My point originated from thinking of other stories with manufactured happy endings from Disney such as the Little Mermaid and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
