  • Mechanical engineering is definitely an intense career. It sometimes puts blinders on you though. I spent 12 years of my life buried so deep in engineering projects, it seemed like the world passed me by and I never really seemed to care about anything else. The real world deals in dollars, emotions, politics, finance, economics, etc. But engineers are almost immune to all that. We sometimes have to worry about cost, but rarely. Our lifetime is staring at a blueprints and GD&T.
