Civilians die, it's the nature of war. In no war in the world, was there a ever a one without civilian casualties. But when the force you're facing (Taliban) cowardly disguise themselves as civilians it's going to happen more frequently.

And I was taught Pashto, but I don't speak it very well.

I'm glad you assisted Afghans, but just because you were not involved in the brutal air strikes it doesn't mean that they don't happen. Civilians die and suffer from dramatically from this war.

If you really cared about them, you'd leave.

Here's how life went for me. I served my country by supporting the MI element. ON MY OFF TIME I was assisting the AID for the Afghan people. I would go outside the wire to provide food, water, cloth, blankets, even toys to the local people and training for the police (ANP). We fired upon those ONLY if fired upon first. And sometimes we would just roll on by. We did not risk wasting injury for a nugget with small arms fire. We only stopped and fought for IED threats and RPG threats.

Again, you trying to tell someone who has FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE of what the country what is real and what is not. Once you are in Afghanistan, then you can tell me what is real and what is not.

Listen to the former British ambassador to Uzbekistan. He used to be just like you until he found out that the US and UK were responsible for torturing Afghans and other "combatants" in secret prisons.

He said parents had to watch their children being tortured. People being boiled alive.

Really? Because our last mission trip to Nigeria, shows a great respect to women and children. We (my church, not my unit) just put in a well for clean water under constant threat. In China, female babies are put to death and/or abandoned to die on their own. And porn comes out of many parts of the world. I've even seen Muslim produced porn.

Next time use an argument that you can blame solely on the US.
