Soviet Union never directly interrupted civil wars in countries like Vietnam,Laos. What they took was while the World War 2 was still going on,the territories where they passed were all Communist,except Turkey and Greece.They only got into a fight directly in Cuba and Afghanista.USA got directly in Yugoslavia,Afghanista,Iraq,Vie­tnam,Laos,Cuba,Libya,Egypt,Som­alia,Liban,North Korea,.... Stalin's murders were doubled,Lenins aswell, in China when there was that student protest and when the military came in, West said taht the Chinese soldiers killed 500-1000 students while it was actually around 50-60.
