Big moth on my door

Found this moth on my door. May be a Polyphemus Moth. Looks like it's either injured from a massive rainstorm overnight or maybe it's laying eggs. The last time I saw one of these was in Tennessee and it was bigger. It's very unusual to see one of these on my front door in Houston.
