damn strate. most diamonds are nothing but crystallized spit, but thay have bin well marketed and people will pay money for them. i as a jeweler much prefure things like corundums (sapphire and ruby) and topaz and other more colorful stones for my work
diamonds are NOT forever. they are highly organized and arranged (high entropy) carbon atoms and if you know any chemistry, things that are organized have a tendancy to more towards disorganization. diamonds decay rapid enough that it's noticable by the human eye after a ~50 year interval.
