An updated version of my 'Trial of Lancelot' video (which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wGgvwyBTSM) featuring a few changes, new clips and the inclusion of Galahad (Lancelot's son). Again, I apologize for the bad quality. I try my best with Windows Movie Maker!! I'd like to thank everyone who left lovely comments on the original video and I hope you enjoy this little updated one as well. I worked very hard on it and am grateful to you for watching! Constructive criticism is appreciated! :-)
So! I'm a bit of an Arthurian geek and have always found the love story between Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot fascinating. True, there are many versions and variations of the story to be had but, to me, it is a heart-rending story of three people who love each other very much but end up hurting each other dearly and, like the timeless tale of Tristan and Isolde, it breaks my heart. I'm also a fan of the BBC television series, 'Merlin' and Canadian Celtic musician, Heather Dale. Combine all these factors and this video is the result! :-P This, is essentially a 'What If?' situation. 'AU', if you like.

:THE STORY:
In a land of myth and a time of magic, the legendary kingdom of Camelot stands bold, unwavering and strong in the midst of a gleaming, golden age. Many long years have passed since the horrors of the notorious Great Purge and the tyrannical reign of Uther. The trials and tribulations of the past are but a memory, and the brilliant King Arthur reigns as king whilst peaceful magic thrives. The epitome of perfection.
But all that glisters is not gold and behind the smiles, the feigning, the pretence and the facade, the threads of the golden age are slowly falling apart. Behind closed doors and in isolated quarters of the castle Guinevere, -- now Queen, and Lancelot, -- now a noble knight struggle to fight against their strong and passionate feelings for one another. Ultimately, the two lovers succumb to their consuming desire and begin an affair. But it could never last forever.
Arthur discovers of the two lovers' infidelity and their worlds come crashing down in an instant. Hurt and betrayed, he throws the lovers into the cells. Both have committed treason and, by the ancient laws of Camelot, the punishment for treason is death. But Guinevere is Arthur's one love, his wife, his shoulder. Lancelot is Arthur's first knight, one of his closest friends, almost a brother. How can he possibly sentence either of them to death? Forlorn, confused and devastated, he calls upon his faithful knights -- the legendary knights of the round table, for guidance and advice in making his decision. Thus beings the trial of Sir Lancelot.
The Knights take it in turns to speak and we witness Sir Kay, Sir Gawain, Sir Tristan and Sir Galahad each declare their judgment as the ever gallant Lancelot proudly defends his actions and proclaims his eternal, undying love for Guinevere.
Finally, Arthur comes to a decision. He sentences both to death. But, Lancelot succeeds in escaping from his cell and, at the last moment, rescues Guinevere before her execution and both flee...

I loved the first one and this one is just as good! You kept all the beautiful parts and added the ones of 4x09, which are all really touching scenes. I thought season 4 got only better after this episode, especially the last 2 episodes, with Arthur and Gwen coming back together. Why do we have to wait until September for the next series? :(

Thank you for your comment! :D I agree, the finale was very good imo. Still wish the enchantment had been revealed though! Ha ha, I know! It's such a long wait! I'm sure it'll be worth it though :P

You're very talented! I loved it. I liked 4x09, but I think it cheapened their story a little. If they're never going to clear Lancelot's and Gwen's name... But I fear they won't do that. I hope Lancelot makes a short return in series 5. Like Freya did or something like that.

Ha ha, thank you very much :D Yes! Thank you! I feel exactly the same way. I too hope that Lancelot returns in Series 5 but it looks sadly very unlikely. :(
