On August 15th 2009 I took to the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square to raise awareness of Chiari Malformation.
Chiari (Kee-ah-ree) is a serious neurological condition where the bottom part of the brain descends out of the skull and crowds the spinal cord, putting pressure on both the brain and spine.

Hi Beth I suffered from this condition at 14 was operated on at 15 am now 39 and have no syptoms whatsoever. I was the first person in the UK to have this operation on 12th March 1987. A wonderful surgeon Professor Miller sadly no longer alive performed it. There is hope out there. Stay Strong
