Imnaha Wolf Pack

This video taken by ODFW on Nov. 12, 2009 in the Imnaha Wildlife Management Unit (east of Joseph, Ore. in Wallowa County) shows at least 10 wolves make up a pack that ODFW has been monitoring since June 2008. The video was taken from an adjacent ridge across a canyon and shows a mixture of gray and black individual wolves moving upslope.

Wolves tend to eat the old, sick and infirm deer, demolish the coyote population and kill or drive cougars into the canyons. The number of deer killed by wolves is a drop in the bucket compared to collisions with motor vehicles. Studies have shown wolves have minimal negative impact on deer populations. Just look at other states like Minnesota or Wisconsin and their studies. There is no reason anymore for the misconceptions about wolves as demented killers.

The reason people want deer and elk populations to be large is so that people can kill them. The wolves eat them because they are hungry. They deserve it more than humans.

I hope Ranchers, ODFW, and Hunters wipe out all the wolves in oregon. I hope the same goes on in all the rocky mt states aswell.

These wolves eat deer, elk, whatever moves, to think that they don't eat themejustuso is to say he isnt a mexican national

the number of deer and elk killed by wolves every year is completely wrong in your world bud... wolves kill for the sport of it.. not for food... look at deer and elk numbers in idaho since they have been dropped off like abandoned dogs... they are useless to the environment and to me they look like big coyotes

@roccorocket Since when did it become better for an animal to have rights, than a human to have their rights? Everyone that I know that hunts (myself included) do so for the meat. So since both groups are killing the same thing for the same reason, why is it that an animal that holds no say in the direct impact of human lives (especially those of you that live in Portland and Eugene) has more say in the state that I pay taxes in? I'm fine with the wolves, but regulated hunts ins't a bad idea.

i had great sucess with my dad there dureing 2010 fall bear and 2010 general deer and general elk it was a good season

@normandyeurope Okay, I think we have reached a truce in our disagreement. You are an interesting paradox. I'm sorry you hate the far left more than the far right - I am the opposite. In fact, I don't hate the far left at all. And it's too bad you haven't met any gay people you like. I have met many. @roccorocket Okay I think we are saying the same exact thing now just in different ways. Oh I use hippie and liberal as a derogatory because I hate the far left more than I hate the far right by a long shot and I'm an Atheist is what makes that funny. I am extremely socially liberal in the fact I am for gay rights and indifferent to changing anything about abortion. I personally can't stand any homosexual I have met and I am extremely homophobic, at least I admit it. Fiscally I'm very far right.
