The Bow Valley SPCA announces the birth of four new puppies at the Carla Cumming
Sojonky Adoption Centre, located in Canmore Alberta. The new mother (Sparrow) was
rescued and brought to the adoption centre only a few days before she gave birth.
The babies were born on either February 9 or 10 between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
According to Sonya White, the Adoption Centre Manager, She is a great mom, the
puppies are all nursing, and she is keeping them nice and clean. Sparrow lets us
handle them too, but keeps a close eye on them! They are all resting comfortably.
This is an exciting day in our history! Sparrow's partner and, mostly likely, the
father is named Jack (also rescued at the same time as Sparrow), so together they
are Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean; so we (Ann Jorgenson, the Animal
Care Attendant that discovered them on the morning of February 10) named the
pups after the islands.
The Pups will be available for adoption in April. Please contact the Bow Valley SPCA
at 403 609‐2022 or on the web at www.bowvalleyspca.org.
