In this lesson we go over the tune Johnny Gone by Gregory Isaacs. Great tune off of his album Past and Future. The drummer on the record is Sly Dunbar one of the most prolific and long lasting drummers in reggae today. He's played with a number of artists including The Mighty Diamonds, which the album he produced "Right Time" is revolutionary. He soon went on to start Taxi Records with bass guitarist Rob Shakespeare. Together Sly and Robbie have produced 1000's of records.

  • haha thats in a practice room at berklee

  • hells yea!

  • in fact.. Sly is the greatest reggae drummer, but the author's of the clip is a "little" wrong.. if you listen the original track, you will notice that sly's play a 2-times inna sidestick, not side-stick with the left and beat with the right stick on 2nd beat.. so only that way the vibe will be perfect!!!

    Muchas Gacias boludos!!

  • in case you haven't notice i try to simplify drums for the every man.

Tack så mycket du jävla äcklig svin!!
