Ugyen speaks about climate change issues from an indigenous people's and Buddhist perspective. He is a Tibetan artist based in Bristol, UK, and founder of "Tibet - A Living Tradition". This is a short extract from his interview conducted on 12th October 2009, at The Pierian Centre's conference on Indigenous People's rights.
The Centre Cannot Hold is an artistic and social project exploring climate change, imperialism and displacement. Directed by Kooj (Kuljit) Chuhan, its thematic focus is on the intersection between climate/environment, race-migration/global inequality, and justice/human rights. Its artistic and cultural approach intends to develop a critical realism for the 21st century, narrative and dialogical experimentation and interactivity, and participatory immediacy.
