This was a personal favor to a friend, so the "tutorial" is made assuming the viewer already knows how the program works. This technique does not require a tablet.

Basic steps.

1) Do your sketch on a normal layer.
2) Create a new vector layer above the sketch layer. 100% Opacity.
3) **Optional** Decrease the opacity of the sketch layer.
4) On the vector layer, select the "curve" tool. If you click once, it will create a vector point. You don't have to hold it down or anything, just click to the next spot. Once you have a full line completed, double click the last vector point to release the curve tool.
5) Still on the same vector layer, select the pressure tool.
6) Using the pressure tool, click and hold a vector point. If you drag to the left, the point will get lighter on the line, and darker to the right, curving like a pen.

That's how I do it, Kylie.

  • well i have a tablet and when i use a regular layer and select pen tool the pressure setting doesnt work do u have any solutions?

  • @pixielover1201

You can't use the pressure tool seen here on a regular layer. You need a vector layer to use the pressure tool.

Now, if you're talking about pressure sensitivity on a regular layer, which is an entirely different thing, you need to adjust your settings. Do you have a legal copy of SAI? You might have to reinstall or update the drivers on your tablet.

  • I don't have the 'line' options, help please?! :(

  • @Oblivionstud666

You're probably not working on a vector layer.

  • what's the name of the song???? TT

  • @KIMIKOKOS

    I'm not telling you.

Maybe you could watch the credits or check the description before asking next time.
