Di Anthony Louis Scarmolin (1890 - 1969)

Dalla partitura del 1945 "Based on the folk and popular music of Lithuania, the rhapsodie presents music of strong rhythms and Russian coloring, which will at once appeal to directors, players and audiences. The ballad "Mana Rosa" (My Rose), scored for Trumpet solo at No. 10 has been an oustanding favorite in Lithuania, and Anna Kauskas of the Metropolitan Opera has recorded it. The modern treatment of the Polka (finale) a la Schostakovitch gives the number a sure-fire finish".
