@GentlemanHES Pete Townshend is definitely not the greatest living rock guitarist, but he's a great songwriter. Mick Jones is a great guitar player as well as songwriter, but you should give some credit to The Strokes, I thought this was a decent cover.

i like the strokes cover than original .

I love the strokes and i think julian's voice has attitude and it's just amazing ,but what i understood from this cover is that every band's singer is perfect for his band's songs!!! the covers just dont sound right !

I dont give 2 shits who is the better guitarist or whatever. To me, the band that writes the better songs is the better band. And the Clash got the Strokes beat in that department. However, Julian is still a hell of a songwriter one of the best in this generation. He wrote all of the first 3 albums of the Strokes

Dont know what the hell everyone's talking about. I personally absolutely LOVE this performance. Absolutely tight from Nikolai and Fab. Albert and Nick definetly cleaned up some of the guitar parts, specially during the bridge. Yet the best part for me is Julian's tone. Its low, its raw, and it sounds like he's been eating nails. AWESOME

This is actually pretty good and I dinnie care what folk say.

Is that Hodinsolar urine he's pouring out at the start, on someone else's head?? Radical defiance if so: the cavemen might be not proud if so. Oooow.

Not a bad cover, better than most.

regardless of how good or bad this cover is the fact that bands like the strokes cover clash songs just goes to prove what a massive influence the clash have been.and long may they continue to be so.

One of my all time best bands were The Clash and one of there better songs. It's a tribute if someone covers your music!!! More power to The Strokes.
