Metroid: Zero Mission Part 19, Mecha Ridley

In the ship's control room, Ridley left a mechanical version of himself to oversee things while he's gone. This Mecha / Robot / Metal Ridley has been watching us since we entered the ship!

The robot's main weakness is its chest where a sort of power device is. To make the battle more entertaining I used regular missiles, as super ones will take him down in less than a minute (Seriously, I just took it out, no damage, it only attacked twice. 6 super missiles). Shoot the chest cover a bit to blow it off, then destroy the power source. Mechanical Ridley will attack with arm swings and fire balls in the first phase, and will keep the weak point revealed for a while.

In part 2 it won't be attackable as long, and will replace the fire balls with eye lasers and the occasional missile. Keep up your strategy, and Space Jump a lot. Screw attack can destroy missiles.

There's one more thing once the robot goes down. It activates a self-destruct sequence! This is Metroid, you can expect a timer. Run back to the docking bay to find it guarded by two final elite pirates. These are stronger than the regular pirate, and will take more hits than the grey or red ones. Once one is down it should get easy, so kill the last. Go into the spe- ship, and kill or ignore the pirate. You've beaten Metroid: Zero Mission and escaped Ridley's mother ship!

Those Black Space Pirates are pretty strong. They're like miniature bosses.

I pretty much consider that to be the game's last battle, they were harder than Ridley anyway.
