my bike started flashing the f1 code.. i got about 4100 miles on it .. what could cause this?

u dont remove a set valve on a slip especially the over prices one fro k8 and since it bolts on to the cat go buy one for a k6-k7 and it will bold on to the collecter and drop like 14 lbs also go to the deal buy the 14$ plug there is an open port near ur battery plug it in put the switch to on turn the bike on and it will tell u the code go find a service manual and it will tell u what that code means problem solved and i live the pipe proibly gonna get it for my k7

More than likely its a siezed SET valve. Un sieze it with some penetrating fluid then lube it with high temp grease.

get a power commander. you need to remap the engines fuel system. its set up for the exhaust you had on it, so its loseing power
