@Ianwis I think that this is the result of performers using the same producers, a producing generic songs; however, some are also just common simple melodies, and others interpret existing melodies, or used them as inspiration for their music; But generic is the main problem, I once over heard a hip hop song that went on for about twenty minutes, it was a radio station, and it was many songs, from different performers, they are just generic as fuck. what do you think?

besides, so much is similar in songs these days, the black eyed peas could have ripped their song from many many hard core rappers, just because they sound similar does not mean they are the same

#11 - Yeah, but both are still great songs. #12 - Avril still sucks. Quit with her already! #13 - Either intentional or it was just one of those things. Similar, but still pretty different with the vocals. #14 - It's kind of a natural-sounding progression. If they ripped it, sue for royalties. If not, they should shrug and be like "lolwut? My bad."

#1 - I think that's the point. #2 - Likely not intentional. #3 - They both suck. Next! #4 - Again, likely not intentional. #5 - They both suck yet again. #6 - Seriously? I'm sure 30STM would know better than to rip off a highly recognizable song such as that. Besides, not similar enough. #7 - Both great songs and only similar due to the ukelele. #8 - Meh. I'm getting bored now. #9 - Kelly Clarkson sucks, but that's no rip-off. #10 - Black Eyed Peas are thieving bastards. Not the first time.
