This is horrible. I knew about pads and chains but I didn't know about soring. I don't know why people want such an exaggerated gait anyway it looks so freakish and unnatural! These people don't deserve the privilege of working with horses.

These poor animals. Everything about showing these horses is inhumane. The soring those massive pads, and the fact that those riders a) can't ride at all b) are sitting right on the haunches of horse who's back strength is already severly compromised thanks to being forced to travel so uphill. This is disgusting.

some horses do their movements naturally, some do not, and those people who 'influence' the gaits with these neanderthal like treatments do not deserve to be near any animal and should be jailed and sored themselves

The people in those pictures need to be strapped into some 6 inch Manolo Blahniks and made to run for their lives for about twenty miles. What is the matter with them? Watching those horses perform is a lovely as watching ballet done by women who had their feet bound.

@ksamuraip inhumane? I am a 14 year old girl who shows in the world championship horse show 13 and under 5 gaited and won! I dont sore my horse and he brings his hooves up to his chest at all 5 gaits. It is natural to them, even foals high step at a young age. Inhumane? to let a horse do what it does naturally? i hate rude bitches like u who try to insult what is natural to a horse when they never even seen a saddlebred in action!

@funnysummerfun You are obviously an inhumane person.  I pity any animals you have. Everything about the methods used to make these horses step higher is abusive. What's the POINT????? Who wants to see horses moving like that. There is no purpose to any of it. Even if there was a purpose, it's inhumane and everyone connected to any of these methods needs to be jailed and TORTURED daily so they will understand the pain those horses suffer.
