I think soring TWH is wrong, but let me say, they are not the only ones doing things like that. QHs are often "rowelled" until they will accept the unnatural movement of peanut-rolling and exaggerated loping, Arab show horses are often "gingered" or have chilli applied to their genitals to make them seem lively... and I think we all know the horrible things that happen to Thoroughbreds who race on the flat or steeplechase!
To everyone who thinks this is mean. I agree. But, not all gaited horses are soared and most of them like there job. I know a big lick horse who is 17 years old and just refuses to be retired!
I agree. People going to extreme lengths to get their horses to look "pretty" in the show ring is horrible. Having a horse is the fun, not winning all the competitions in the world at the expense of your horse!
That is SOO mean both my mom and dad have gaited horses but they dont do that!!!! they just ride them and if there gait isn't right they don't really care. That is sooo mean!!!!
