MBTs (and its bastard son, Shape-Ups) do not make the distinction between SUFFICIENT muscle activation and EXCESSIVE muscle activation. They also deaden the sensory feedback from the ground with their massive sole volume, which means that it's much more difficult for lower leg muscles to 'prep' themselves for impact.

I went barefoot for a year through winter and summer. My feet felt better! Shoes suck! The only time I had trouble was when I walked 10 miles on concrete and asphalt in the summer... bad blisters!

@mannecyberguy You really should take a look at some of my recent videos. They may assuage your concerns about glass. And outside being stuck in wood, a nail is almost never seen standing straight up. Consider the likelihood of a coin standing on edge, its about the same. Stones are generally no threat at all I have never had issues with them. Garbage is really easy to avoid. I have been barefoot over a year now and I can tell you from personal experience its safe, healthy, and so fun :D

@deutschPerson333 I think that barefooting isn't a bad idea, but take into cosideration broken glass, nails stones and garbage in general before going outdoors shoeless.

Wow, why is it that in every video some misinformed quack has the last word tearing down barefooting. As a side note, I live in providence and am a full time barefooter. If you'd like I'd be more than happy to share the truth of barefooting with real personal experience. I was on your channel once before, (chaffee's waterfire) Let me know.

flat shoes are good, like converse or tennis shoes... None of this space age crp and magical shoes...

horrible shoes!!! The best way to run or walk is the NATURAL way to do it which is barefoot or with minimal protection! Silly chiropractor!
