Gold Mining and Prospecting with Highbanker/Dredge Pt. 1

These videos were shot in Northern Indiana (South Bend / Mishawaka area) in a run off creek. In these videos, we use a Proline Highbank Dredge combination. We have not used it for any highbanking, but mostly just for dredging. In these videos we show you the setup we have been using for the past couple years. This particular dredge does an excellent job catching the black sand and gold. Our particular model is only a 2 opening, but it sure does move a lot of material. We also go underwater with the video camera to give you a whole new look at what really happens under the water. This particular day has been divided up into four parts. I have heard that proline makes the best dredge highbanker combos. What makes your combo better than my Keene 3in. dredge highbanker combo? Are you running the stock miners carpet? Or like me the miners moss? One more thing may help you. Is Right off the pump I run a T adapter so I can run two 1 1/2 inch hoses I use the second with a fire hose nozzle for busting up the creek so dredging is much easy. In stead of using a garden hose with less pressure. But my pump is a 250 gpm pump. Great video

You really shouldnt bend your pressure hose like that. That kink is limiting the flow to your pressure log. But even at that you are flowing way too much water over the riffles. Straighten out the hose and you can slow down the RPMs on your pump.
