@wmbrown6 From what I remember, it was red. It rose up, then the call letters came out of the center and circled the nine. I loved watching this station ID. If someone has it completely, please post it!!!

The other thing: This was taped in B&W, but originally aired in color. I just can't remember if the 9 logo was yellow or powder blue.

Does anyone have a copy of the complete I.D.? I remember it rising up, then the call letters came out of the center and circled the 9. Haven't seen this in ages!!

That's fantastic.

Late in 1978, I saw KHTV in Houston, Channel 39, use this same ID tag.
-
The ID was used since 1971, similar to WGN-TV's, with the arrival of the Circle 9 logo.

The year I was born!
I thought it was a New Jersey station.

@ilovebobgunton - They were originally in NY, then moved their city of license to Secaucus in 1981, followed by a physical move of their studios to said city in 1984.

This actually didn't debut, from what I recall, until the 1977-78 season. I do have to wonder, though: Did the same production firm do both WOR's and WGN's Scanimate ID?

@wmbrown6 - Thanks for the info, and yeah, it's entirely possible that the same company did the IDs for both stations.
