Yes you can engrave on pretty much anything with these machines. Metals and materials of that density don't work as well. There is a special spray called cermark that you use for metal marking with these machines.

Yes you can eat it, I did. I expected the cracker to taste burned, but it didn't at all.

We ate it. We were curious if it would taste burned, but it didn't.
