2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Quadra-Drive II Rear Axle Actuator Replacement

I had the "Service 4WD System" message appear on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (5.7L Hemi with Quadra-Drive II). I checked the wiring from the Final Drive Controller (under the rear seat cushion) and verified the front axle actuator wiring and solenoid were OK (14 ohms across the solenoid wiring) but the rear axle actuator solenoid wiring was open circuit. I checked the resistance at the axle connector and it was also open circuit so the rear axle cover would have to come off. Replacing the actuator solenoid and wiring fixed the problem!

These should be available through any Chrysler dealer (my order took about a week to come in in November 2011).

Ive searched high and dry looking for this part and where I can buy it. My gf's 2006 Jeep

Grand Cherokee Overland has the service 4wd message, and the dealer ran the codes and said it was the "rear diff actuator". From what I gather this is the same part as you replaced in your video? But cannot find the part anywhere!! ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

i have the same problem but its my front diff, is it the same part and where can i get it, ive been on every site including mopar parts and cant find it anywhere
